Harold was born on March 6th, 1929, in Lafayette, IN to Orville and Ethel Edwards. The Edwards family lived in Buck Creek and Lafayette. Harold worked at Brown Rubber and was a member of the Army Reserves. During this time he met his wife of 58 years June Edwards. They were married February 22nd, 1952. Their first child Steven Douglas Edwards was born February 19th, 1953. There second child, a daughter Belinda Gayle Edwards was born January 26th, 1955. Harold moved to Garden Grove, California in 1957 looking for work. He found a job at Pacific Scientific, where he worked for 10 years, and in 1959 the rest of the family followed to join Harold in California. Soon after the family was reunited their son Brian Lee Edwards was born on June 25th, 1960.

Harold next spent his time working at Holly Sugar in the maintenance dept and as union president. He worked at Holly Sugar for 16 years. Next Harold worked at Winchell’s Donuts for 5 years. Harold attended several trade schools during his career, and was good at most everything he did.

Harold enjoyed many activities with his family, skating, bowling, camping trips, and most of all he enjoyed joking and teasing everyone he met. Harold always took the kids, along with their friends dirt bike riding, fishing and camping. All the neighborhood kids and kids friends enjoyed being with Harold because he always treated them as if they were his own kids. He even allowed Steve and his friends to hold band practice in the garage and back yard entertaining the entire neighborhood and then some.

Harold Edwards was an all around great husband. father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was loved by all family, friends and acquaintances. He is missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his wife and children Harold is also survived by a brother Kenneth, five grandchildren, Steven, Angela, Monica, Shannon, and Erin, eight great grandchildren, Ryan, JJ, Abel, Celeste, Vaughn, Raiden, Bradley and a baby on the way.

"Brian and Steve's dad" was a craftsman, a good father and husband, and an example of a good red blooded American. And oh yes, he was a kidder too. Memories of go carts, mini bikes, toys, and pets mingle with his caring smile, and a guy who always had time to pump up a neighborhood punks bike tire. Harold cared about his family and community. Harolds quick wit and humor drew you in, just before he would see your need, and take action in a non challant way to correct it. He used hands on, while he explained how to do it, and mentored another generation of can doers. Harold knew how to be a good neighbor; he showed it and lived it. Honor him by doing the same. Rest in peace Harold, we will miss you, but your in our hearts.

Lyle & Cindy Austin
We were unable to attend Harold's services, but he will be missed. Lyle has known the Edwards family for many years, Cindy has known the family for at least 15 years. We will miss Harold and his upbeat attitude. If the family needs anything, please call us. Love and prayers, Lyle and Cindy Austin.

So sorry for your loss. I have only good memories of him and always remember him smiling. My mom is going to write down some of her memories such as My dad thinking he caught their dog Ralph outside but it was your dog. Our prayers are with you all. We were lucky to have you for neighbors.
